lemon blueberry muffins

i would like to talk about these muffins for a minute. they don't look spectacular thanks to my lack luster camera and photog skills but don't be fooled, they were SO good. they reminded a great deal of donuts. so you know, they were really good.

i have made this blueberry muffin recipe before. the first few times i made it, i LOVED it but then the last few times they ended up dry and just okay. i don't know what i did wrong. anyway, i was going to give it another try a few days ago because i was really wanting muffins but in the middle of making them decided to try changing it up a bit.

i got the basic recipe here from annies eats. which, i will say, has never steered me wrong so any complaints about these had to be because of something i did wrong. i used this recipe but added 1/4 cup of chobani blueberry yogurt and the zest of 1 lemon. i then skipped the topping and made a lemon glaze using powdered sugar, milk and the juice of 1 lemon. when the muffins where still warm i dunked them into the glaze, let them set just a bit and then dunked them again.

the result-really really yummy lemon blueberry muffins :)
