fall fun

we had a fun weekend celebrating fall and we even got some actual fall weather in to make it even better :) it's so funny how excited everyone around here gets when the weather finally gets lower than 80 degrees and the humidity leaves for a few days. boots, scarves, and jackets come out for a few days before they are pushed aside for shorts and flip flops again until the next cool weather blows through.

friday morning we left early to go back to sweetberry farms but this time we were meeting friends. this was the coldest day of the weekend and was grey and drizzly but we still have lots of fun. kids could care less about being rained on the cold. even though the morning was little chaotic at times with so many kids 3 and under, it was well worth the effort. i left feeling truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community of women in the same boat as i :)

saturday morning we did some things around the house, ran some errands and worked on putting together a play room in the garage. gregg built a play table out of some pallets he picked up behind a few stores, had a piece of plywood cut for a top and spray painted it with chalkboard paint. we bought a couple of rugs SUPER cheap at ross (you can find anything there!) and picked up a really cheap train set. we also threw some old diaper boxes we had laying around out there and told abbey they were big building blocks. she loves them. eventually i want to cover them contact paper.

this evening we went to a fall festival that a new church near us put on. it was so fun for abbey. they had carnival rides, free food, bouncy houses, pony rides and a petting zoo. she had a blast! she loved that her friends were there to do everything with her too. we let her dress up in her halloween costume which she also loved since she is very into "princess skirts and shoes" since her flower girl role last week.

i'm looking forward to dinner and trick or treating with friends wednesday evening and dressing tucker up in one of his costume options. this time of the year is so much fun as abbey is getting older and able to enjoy it more. it's hard to believe that we will have 3 kids next fall!
